Lady Long Rodders - the healing art of fly fishing

Fly fishing is far from my area of expertise but I wanted to share this with everyone. Lady Long Rodders is a non profit club that aids in the fight against breast cancer, brought to life by my father. Please check out this link for the official website: http://ladylongrodders.org and like it on facebook. The more "like"s we get, the more help is available to our cause.

Silver Poet

One of my supporters asked me if I was a member of inkpop.com. Yes, yes I am. I don't have much on there because I get distracted but if you like what you see then maybe I could be encouraged to continue. My name on the site is Silverpoet.

An inspiration.

One of my followers emailed me recently and said something very inspirational that i want to share. I think it describes the mindset that all amateur writers should share and it gives very good encouragement.
"Does my writing suck?
Yes.
Do I keep writing because I just can't stop?
Double yes."

This absolutely describes how I feel when I write and I think if we just keep going we'll get something worthwhile out of it.
So just keep pushing people. Amateur is a term that should only be temporary.

InkPop

There's an amazing website that allows young or amateur writers to go on and write for free. everything (to my understanding) is copy-written as you post. Members can read your stuff and and a group of editors from a big time publishing company reads the top five stories on the site and choose one to publish. I have joined the site and I absolutely love it. Check it out at inkpop.com

Too slow...

So, i had this idea for a trilogy that was a total reinvention of another story. I've been doing research for months and suddenly i see a movie trailer about the same story. It's not the same story line i was going to go with but still.. now I feel incredibly discouraged. I still think my trilogy could make an amazing story but now I don't feel like it's my idea anymore. Most of my other projects i only started because i wished there was something like it out there already and there just wasn't, but this i wanted to be totally mine. How depressingly ironic.
